In addition to the scientific program, the social program of the conference will be an opportunity to discover the highlights of Occitanie region, on Wednesday 24th of May.

The departure will take place from TSE at 12:30 and the return is scheduled around 8.30 p.m. The highlights are:

 1. Visit of Château et remparts de la cité de Carcassonne (Castle and city walls of the city of Carcassonne)

Carcassonne was settled as early as the 6th century BC and later became an important Roman town. It was fortified in the 4th century and was a strategic site in the Middle Ages. It took on its definitive shape in the 13th century with the king’s decision to construct the distinctive double-walled ramparts and extend the castle. The city was restored by Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century and is a testimony to 1,000 years of military architecture and 2,500 years of history. Walk along ramparts and enjoy an exceptional view over Pyrenees and Black Mountain.

 2. Visit of a French wineyard and tastings

Stroll in the vineyards nearby Carcassonne, followed by a tasting of a selection of wines and local products.
